Weather Headlines:

Seasonal high temperatures continue on Monday before we gradually warm up through the week ahead. Quiet weather remains through the first half of the week, with better chances of precipitation by the end of the week.

Looking ahead to late October, most of the state is trending toward above-average temperatures. Our average highs this time of year sit in the middle 60s.

Most of the state is leaning toward above-average precipitation chances near the end of the month. A more active weather pattern is expected to settle in as a disturbance swings in from the west at the end of the week.

Forecast:

Temperatures tonight will fall to the upper 30s to lower 40s statewide. We are expecting a little more cloud cover, which could help us hang onto a degree or two overnight.

Winds will be on the stronger side early in the evening for Lincoln. Lighter winds arrive on Monday morning, though temperatures will still fall to the lower 40s.

Outside of a few passing clouds, the latest runs of StormCast remain uneventful through the start of the work week.

Highs will be close to average for mid-October on Monday, with most areas statewide in the 60s. A southerly breeze continues, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.

Another day in the Capital City where we will need the jacket in the morning, but it could be fine without it during the afternoon. Highs on Monday are expected to reach the upper 60s after a cool start to the day.

By Tuesday, many of us will be looking at afternoon temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. A southerly wind continues, gusting up to 25 miles per hour.

The warming trend continues through the week ahead as highs will flirt with the 80s by next weekend. Rain chances continue through the weekend, though any rainfall totals look to be less than half an inch at this time. A cold front swings through next weekend, bringing highs back into the 60s.
