JD Vance set to speak at North Platte midterm rally

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KLKN) — Vice President JD Vance is visiting North Platte on Oct. 22 for a midterm rally.

The midterm rally will feature remarks from the vice president.

The event is being held at D&N Events Center. Guests must RSVP to the event.

The doors open at 8:30 a.m. with the event beginning at 10:30 a.m. and remarks from Vance at 12:05 p.m.

The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb said Nebraska families deserve better.

“This coming Thursday, JD Vance will visit North Platte to try to save the sinking campaigns of Pete Ricketts and Jim Pillen. This last Saturday, Vance stood in front of Joey Amor, whose wife, Master Sgt. Nicole Amor, was killed in Kuwait by an Iranian strike one day into an unnecessary war started by Donald Trump,” Kleeb said. “Joey asked who would be held accountable for his wife’s death. Vance acted like he was hearing about it for the first time. Seven months later, the failures at that base have been reported again and again. Pretending not to know is the most callous possible response to a grieving husband. Our military families deserve better than a Vice President who doesn’t know what’s happening on the ground. Ricketts paid a Colorado firm to come up with our state slogan, “Nebraska. Honestly, it’s not for everyone.” It finally rings true for JD Vance.”
