Lincoln mayor nominates new planning commissioner
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird revealed her nomination that will fill a vacancy on the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission.
Seth Derner, the new nominee, served as co-founder, co-ceo, principal and senior consultant at Vivayic, a consulting firm.
“Seth Derner is an entrepreneur whose experience in education and workforce development, along with his strong record of community involvement, will add valuable perspective to the Planning Commission. I appreciate his willingness to serve and help us grow our local economy and the great life in Lincoln and Lancaster County,” Gaylor Baird said.
Darner will replace Dick Campbell, who left the Planning Commission after seven years of service.
“Dick Campbell has grown Lincoln in more ways than one,” Gaylor Baird said. “Beyond his leadership at the helm of Campbell’s Nurseries, Dick helped bring Pinnacle Bank Arena and Village Gardens to life and guided our community’s development through his service on the Planning Commission. I am deeply grateful for his leadership and for the many ways he and his wife, Kathy, have invested their time and talents in making Lincoln an even better place to call home.”
Darner said he wants to help Lincoln build for the future.
“I am thankful to Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird for nominating me to serve on the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission,” Derner said. “I believe Lincoln and Lancaster County provides one of the best quality-of-life opportunities for businesses and families. I want to do my small part to help build on that success for the future and support others in achieving it.”
