LPD beginning Seatbelt Enforcement Project to encourage drivers to buckle up
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) announced a new seatbelt enforcement project for a majority of November.
The project will start Nov. 5 and end Nov. 30.
LPD said the project is party of the Make It Click campaign. Officers will increase enforcements in Lincoln to ensure that drivers are using their seatbelt.
According to LPD, they will do targeted enforcement through the city by focusing on times when seat belt use may be lower like evenings, weekends and during the Thanksgiving holiday.
LPD said the goal is not to simply issue citations, but to increase awareness, encourage drivers and prevent tragedies on the road.
