University of Nebraska and NCBB hosting blood drive for We Give Blood competition

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Community Blood Bank and the University of Nebraska are hosting a blood drive on Nov. 13 as part of the We Give Blood competition.

It will be hosted at the Tom Osborne Legacy Complex from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The We Give Blood competition is the Big Ten Conference and Abbott’s third annual event, letting blood donors attribute their donation to any of the Big Ten Schools.

Nebraska won the competition in 2024 and scarcely lost to Wisconsin by 925 donations in 2025.

The competition ends on Dec. 4, allowing anyone across the country to attribute their donations to Nebraska.

The University of Nebraska has urged people to bring the championship back to Nebraska.
