UPDATE: Officers, suspect wounded in shooting identified

Two Lincoln Police officers, along with a suspect, involved in a shooting Saturday have been identified.
The officers were injured while responding to a report of a man with a knife in the 3200 block of South 48th Street early Saturday morning.
LPD said Officer Kyle Russell, 25, was stabbed in the chest in an area not covered by his ballistic vest.
Police also said Officer Josh Atkinson, 36, was shot in the leg during the incident.
Both officers are expected to be OK.
Officials say Christopher Brennauer, 43, stabbed Russell, who then reached for and fired his weapon.
Brennauer was shot in the shoulder, and LPD said Russell was the only person to fire a weapon during the struggle, according to Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner.
Brennauer is in critical condition at a local hospital.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and LPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit are investing the shooting.
Sheriff Wagner said it’s unclear if the shot that struck Atkinson was a ricochet.
The officers have a combined 12 years of experience between them, Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister said.
Atkinson and another Lincoln Police officer were involved in the shooting death of Gerimichael Kennedy in 2016.
Kennedy was accused of killing 20-year-old Marlene Rashidi, and of pointing a gun at the officers when they tried to arrest him.
A grand jury cleared Atkinson and Sergeant Mario Robinson in the case.
