Child killed, 4 people injured in Gage County house fire

Authorities say a child was killed and four other people injured in an early morning house fire in Gage County. 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities say a child was killed and four other people injured in an early morning house fire in Gage County.

Fire crews responded around 4 a.m. Thursday to the fire at a home in Blue Springs.

Fire officials say the child who died was found in a bedroom of the home.

Four other people were taken to area hospitals, including a man who was brought to CHI St. Elizabeth in Lincoln with life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Authorities have not identified the people involved.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office said investigators have determined the fire was accidental, however the fire remains under investigation.
