Automotive Career Expo at SCC

Southeast Community College hosted an auto expo Tuesday evening.

Auto experts talked about what to expect from the workplace.

It was open to the public and all ages showed up.

Multiple neat cars were on display including an electric BMW, a custom Jeep Wrangler and even a 1950s Chevy.

One father and son who came, spent some time working on their own project for years.

“When I was young, I had a Triumph Spit Fire, a ’74, and we had to rebuild it because it was a rust bucket. My dad and I spent long nights in the garage and just put any part on it and had a lot of fun,” says Alex Filing, high school sophomore.

The event hopes to educate the public on automotive programs at SCC and around Lincoln.

A raffle for two $500 scholarships were also up for grabs.
