Lincoln Police: Home invasion turned homicide ‘not random’

Lincoln Police say the home invasion that resulted in the murder of 36-year-old Jessica Brandon Tuesday morning in northwest Lincoln was not a random attack.
"Investigative details have established that the invasion into the home and the deplorable violence that followed was not random," Chief Jeff Bliemeister said during a Wednesday morning press conference.
Bliemeister also said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Lincoln Police said they have received surveillance from some neighboring homes and businesses. They are asking anyone else in the area with footage to send it in to police. They’re also asking for anyone with relevant information to the investigation to call police at 402-441-6000.
Brandon’s autopsy has been ordered for Thursday.
