Driver accused of knocking over police officer when avoiding arrest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An improper turn led officers to discover over 40g of meth.
Just before 9 pm Monday, May 10, Lincoln Police officers witnessed a white Chevy Malibu make a traffic infraction near 8th and ‘H’ Streets.
Pulling them over, an officer contacted 25-year-old Brett Nunnery.
The officer said they noticed a strong odor of marijuana. At this point, Nunnery quickly drove away, knocking the officer over.
Nearly four weeks later, Lincoln Police spotted Nunnery in the back seat of a black 2020 Kia Optima parked in the lot of the Supersaver near 27th and Cornhusker Hwy.
Lincoln Police identified the driver of the Kia as 32-year-old Michael McKee when they went to contact Nunnery.
Police Service Dog Eros and his handler were brought in to check the car for drugs, says Lincoln Police. This led to the discovery of more than 42g of meth was found inside the Kia (estimated street value of $3,000), 10.6g of marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia.
Nunnery was arrested for fleeing arrest and a drug charge. McKee was also taken into custody on a drug charge.
