York County public defender charged with theft
The York County public defender, Nancy Waldron, was charged with felony theft by unlawful taking.
Court documents allege Waldron wrote checks to herself totaling tens of thousands of dollars from a bank account belong to two sisters.
Documents show one of the sisters said Waldron was authorized to sign checks.
The case is being handled by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.
An arraignment for Waldron is set for August 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Fillmore County Court.
