Woman dead after man drives car into protester crowd, police say
According to MPD's news release, protesters pulled the suspect from his car after the crash and began to strike the driver before officers arrived on the scene

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KLKN)- Minneapolis authorities have reported that a woman is dead and another person is injured after they were hit by a car during a protest in Minneapolis early Monday morning.
At 11:39 p.m. Sunday night, Minneapolis Police say they were monitoring a protest on an officer-involved shooting from a few weeks back that didn’t involve MPD, John Elder, Minneapolis Police’s spokesperson told CNN. The officers say that’s when they saw, via camera, a vehicle drive into a group of protestors.
According to a news release from MPD, the motive for Monday’s violent incident is not yet known, their preliminary investigation indicates drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

MPD reported the surviving victim has been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
