LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman and held her captive in a basement.
Lincoln police were called to a parking lot in the 2900 block of NW 12th St. just before 11 p.m. Saturday where a 40-year-old woman reported her ex-boyfriend had attacked her and held her against her will.
Police identified the man as 42-year-old Curtis Rollie.
The woman told officers Rollie came into her home around 3 p.m. that same day, pointed a gun at her and refused to let her leave the basement for several hours. She also reported he punched her in the face.
The woman said she finally convinced Rollie to let her leave the house with her children to watch fireworks.
Once she was out of the house, the woman immediately called 911.
Police say Rollie, who was found in the basement of the woman’s home, refused to leave until they warned him they would use a police service dog to apprehend him.
Two handguns – both reported stolen – were found in the home, police said.
Rollie was ultimately arrested for four felonies and three misdemeanors.
