Lincoln man adds free dog box to neighborhood

You've probably seen the little free libraries in neighborhoods around Lincoln, but this little box is designed for our furry friends.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –Aa local man is trying to make a difference for the people and dogs in his neighborhood.

Joe Knopp put up a free dog box in his neighborhood after he saw a little library in July. Knopp put pen to paper and started sketching some ideas. With the help of a contractor, his vision became reality.

Now, his wife Debbie, keeps the dog box stocked with water, treats and food.

They’ve continued to add unique little touches like dog-themed doorknobs and some stickers on the window. The box has been a success so far, Knopp says he sees about 20 people use the box a day.
