Getting to know Lincoln’s incoming Chamber of Commerce president

Jason Ball comes to town from Texas, but this is far from his first time in Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Jason Ball is not new to Lincoln, but he’s been away for quite a while, and he’s ready to finally be back home.

“It’s thrilling to come back to Lincoln”, he says. “This is a city I lived in for about 16 years before my career took me in other directions. My wife and I could not be more thrilled to be coming back to the city that we have always thought of as home.”

Ball has been in Kansas, South Dakota, and Texas, but Lincoln is where everything began. Choosing to pursue a career as a chamber president meant he’d have to leave Lincoln, and for almost a decade he’s been on those other pursuits. “So much has changed since then”, he says.

Projects that started when Ball was first in Lincoln have reached their end, the city is growing, and Ball plans on continuing that growth.

He explains, “How can this chamber again be a catalyst for moving forward on big structural issues?”

Citing things like the Haymarket, South Bypass, and Antelope Valley projects, Ball knows Lincoln has done it before, and he thinks we’ve got the right mix to do it again.

“We’ve got so much going for us in Lincoln. There are so many benefits of being here.” Ball is confident that “many other metro areas of the United States would happily trade places with this community any day of the week. We’ve got to keep that moving.”
