After one year, Husker RB Markese Stepp entering transfer portal
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After one season with the Huskers, running back Markese Stepp has decided to enter the transfer portal, 247Sports reported.
Stepp spent his 2021 season with the Huskers, rushing for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 45 carries.
He spent most of the season on the bench with a foot injury that required surgery, according to 247Sports.
The Indiana native came to Nebraska after spending three seasons with USC. He also dealt with injuries in California, keeping his redshirt status until 2020.
Stepp leaves behind a running backs room that includes the likes of sophomores Rahmir Johnson and Jaquez Yant and freshman Ajay Allen.
In just under seven weeks, the Huskers will be traveling to Dublin for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
