LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Teddy Allen set a Pinnacle Bank Arena & Nebraska men’s basketball home game record with 41 points but the Huskers lost to Penn State on Tuesday night, 86-83.
Allen ended up one point short of the single-game NU record of 42 set by Eric Piatkowski in 1994. Trey McGowens added 17 points for the Big Red. McGowens had a chance to tie the game with less than ten seconds remaining but his three point attempt missed.
The Huskers fell to 5-16 overall, 1-13 in the Big Ten.
Nebraska heads to #5 Illinois on Thursday at 6 p.m. on BTN.

*-Teddy Allen finished with a career-high 41 points, the second-highest single-game total in school history and just the fifth 40-point game ever at Nebraska.
