Another potential rainmaker soon to arrive

Many in the state saw some much-needed rainfall in recent days. Lincoln was one of the winners for rainfall, picking up 2.64″ from Thursday through Saturday evening.

Southeast Nebraska started to dry out for the second half of the day on Saturday, but we kept quite a bit of cloud cover. These clouds will slowly attempt to exit to our northeast overnight and into Sunday morning. We anticipate some overnight clearing as a result. Lows on Sunday morning should be in the lower-40s in Lincoln.

Saturday Night Forecast

Sunday features more sunshine, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. It’ll be warm and breezy, with highs in the middle to upper-60s and gusts upwards of 30mph.

Sunday Forecast

You may notice some high clouds building in late Sunday afternoon and evening. These clouds will thicken by Monday morning ahead of our next rainmaker.

Showers start to become possible in southwest Nebraska late Sunday, with showers overspreading the central part of the state on Monday morning. Rain chances increase on Monday morning for Lincoln and remain elevated through Monday evening.

Stormcast Monday Morning

We will be on the cool side of the storm system on Monday, so I’m not expecting much in the way of severe weather. That said, we have a good chance to add to our rainfall totals on Monday, with more rain potentially on the way by mid-week.
