Armed suspect arrested after standoff at Beatrice RV park, police say

BEATRICE, Neb. (KLKN) — One person is in custody after a standoff that lasted several hours in Gage County involving an armed suspect.

Several law enforcement agencies responded to reports of gunshots being fired around 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoyle RV Park in Beatrice. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a suspect inside an RV with a firearm.

They immediately evacuated several surrounding units “for the safety of the occupants,” according to the Beatrice Police Department.

The Beatrice Police Special Response Team (SRT) and Negotiation Team arrived on location and began negotiating with the suspect. Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident after several hours.

No one was injured during this situation. There is no word on the charges the suspect will face at this time.
