Bill Moos confident Huskers’ athletic department continues to progress
"We continue to honor the past," Moos said. "We are creating the future by living the present, which is what we're focusing on right now. The present isn't something we've been accustomed too."
LINCOLN – Bill Moos knows these times are different when it comes to being Nebraska’s athletic director.
But as he winds down his third season leading the Huskers’ athletic department, Moos is confident Nebraska is still following the motto he set in place when he was hired.
Honor the past. Live the present. Create the future.
“We continue to honor the past,” Moos said. “We are creating the future by living the present, which is what we’re focusing on right now. The present isn’t something we’ve been accustomed too.”
Of course, Moos is referencing the coronavirus pandemic, which has shook the world. It’s made for some tough decisions for Moos so far, and many more to come when it comes to the upcoming fall sports season.
“We’ll be tested,” Moos said. “We’re being tested right now. We’re having to call audibles every day.”
But still, Moos believes they are continuing to follow that motto he set in place from day one.
“We still live by those three things. That’s our motto. But living the present right now is a test. I think we’re meeting those challenges very well.”
During his almost three years leading Nebraska’s athletic department, Moos has hired nine head coaches.
