Bipartisan group stumps for amendment aiming to help Nebraska airports

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An amendment to Nebraska’s constitution is on the ballot, and the Grow Nebraska Committee is traveling the state in support of it.

Rep. Mike Flood and State Sens. Eliot Bostar and Lou Ann Linehan serve as co-chairs of the committee, which is a bipartisan effort to pass Amendment 1.

Amendment 1, which Nebraskans will vote on in November, would allow cities or counties with airports to use public funds to develop or expand commercial flights.

The Legislature unanimously passed this measure during the 2022 session.

The officials are visiting Scottsbluff, North Platte and Grand Island on Monday.

On Tuesday, they will journey to Kearney, Norfolk and Omaha.

The three-day trip will conclude Wednesday in Lincoln with a press conference at the Capitol.
