Body found north of Omaha identified as missing Kearney man

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A body that was found Monday north of Omaha has been identified as a missing Kearney man, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Patrick Weber, 56, was reported missing when he didn’t return home from a trip to Council Bluffs, Iowa on Feb. 27.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office identified him as the victim found near 66th Street and Rainwood Drive.
In the last seven months, deputies have found two bodies and a “skeletonized body part” on Rainwood Drive, but the sheriff’s office said there is no evidence that the cases are related.
An investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s office is working with the Kearney Police Department and the Council Bluffs Police Department in the investigation.
The sheriff’s office said Monday that deputies would be investigating the death as a homicide.
