BREAKING: Pfizer announces their vaccine is 100% effective in kids age 12-15

During the trial, 18 of the kids who received a placebo shot became infected, while none of the children who got the real vaccine developed COVID-19.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The vaccine company Pfizer announced in a press release that their vaccine is 100% effective in children ages 12-15.

This is the first COVID-19 vaccine to show data in kids as young as 12 years old, which a first step towards getting younger and younger Americans vaccinated.

In the press release, it said that Pfizer enrolled 2,260 children between the ages of 12-15 for their placebo-controlled trial.

The goal of their trial was to see if the vaccinated children were more likely to be protected.

During the trial, 18 of the kids who received a placebo shot became infected, while none of the children who got the real vaccine developed COVID-19.

Pfizer says that the vaccine is also safe with adolescents experiencing a similiar range of side effects as seen in older teens and young adults.

“In the coming weeks”, the company intends to ask the FDA for an update to the vaccine authorization to include children 12 and older.
