Candlelight vigil held for cyclist Ron Joyce

A candlelight vigil was Thursday night to remember bicyclist Ronald Joyce. Joyce was killed in a head on collision with another cyclist. The accident happened one week ago on the Southpointe trail near the mall. Friends and family gathered at Densmore Park to remember the man who they say was determined in everything he did.
There was laughter, tears and stories. Friends and family took turns speaking about him, remembering fond memories and sharing his interests. Candles were then lit and lanterns were released in memory of Joyce. Co–workers spoke of what a passionate and hard working person he was.
“I think Ron lived life with a great deal of intensity, cut he also was a very gentle man and had a good soul. This gives us an opportunity to come together and have our grief, but also celebrate his life together,” says Baldus.
Everyone comforted each other. Family mentioned friends that hadn’t been seen for a long time came to the vigil. It gave everyone the chance to grieve together, instead of alone.
The thing most mentioned at the vigil is how much Joyce will be missed and the impact he made on so many people.
