Carolyn Bosn to fill Legislature seat vacated by Lincoln mayoral candidate Suzanne Geist

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Gov. Jim Pillen appointed Carolyn Bosn on Thursday to take over for mayoral candidate Suzanne Geist in the Nebraska Legislature.

Geist announced Wednesday that she would be stepping down to focus on the Lincoln mayoral race.  She was elected to the Legislature in 2016.

Bosn, a Columbus native, will now fill the District 25 seat, which represents southeast Lancaster County.

“She’s going to do whatever it takes to be a long-term senator of District 25,” Pillen said.

Bosn has earned degrees from Baylor and Creighton, and she is an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She has also previously served in the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office.

“As a public servant, I approached every day as an opportunity to do what is fair and right,” Bosn said.
