Cass County Sheriff’s Office identifies man killed in Greenwood house fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 58-year-old man was killed in a Greenwood house fire last Thursday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office says.

Several rural fire departments battled the blaze at the home near Third and Grand Streets around 11 p.m.

Crews worked overnight and into the day to extinguish the flames.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office confirmed that Jess Ray Hunt was killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency.
