Child under 10 contracts COVID variant, first case in Dodge County
DODGE COUNTY (KLKN) — Monday, Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) identified the first case of the U.K. COVID-19 variant in Dodge County.
The case involved a child under the age of 10, reports 3RPHD.
Terra Uhing, 3RPHD Executive Director said in a recent statement:
“We knew that it was only a matter of time before a variant strain was identified within the health district. This strain is more easily spread but we have found that our available COVID-19 vaccines are shown to be effective. It is crucial that everyone continues to do their part by wearing a sk, social distancing and staying home when you are sick as we work to get everyone vaccinated.”
3RPHD serves three Nebraska counties including Dodge, Saunders, and Washington.
We’ll keep you updated as new information is released.
