Cold air is moving in
This is the time of year that we typically see the upper 30s and lower 40s for high temperatures. We’re going to be well below that for the next several days. Not much is expected in the way of precipitation for the near term, but there are a couple of chances next week as we head towards Christmas.
While temperatures tonight will only drop into the upper teens, the wind is still going to be an issue. Because of that, our wind chill will likely drop into the single digits early Friday morning.
For Friday, it’s going to be cold. We’ll start out in the lower 20s and won’t make it to 30 degrees by the afternoon. Expect a mix of clouds and sun with more clouds than sun.
Along with a northwest wind at 15 to 30 mph, the high temperatures across the area will range from the middle to the upper 20s. The wind chill will be in the teens.
Above is what the wind gusts will look like around noon on Friday. With 1-2 feet of snow on the ground in the panhandle, whiteout conditions are expected often.
More clouds on Friday, more sun on Saturday and Sunday. It will be colder than average each day!
