LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska senior linebacker Collin Miller will likely miss the rest of the season with a spinal injury suffered during the Huskers’ 41-23 loss against Illinois on Saturday.

Miller, a senior captain as well, was carted off the field at the start of the fourth quarter after taking an awkward hit while going for a tackle. He spent the night at a Lincoln hospital for precautionary reasons.

Scott Frost said on Monday that early testing found a “spinal concussion” though Miller is expected to make a full recovery without any long term effects.

Miller was at practice on Monday, though he didn’t participate.

“I gave him a big hug and I think a lot of guys were excited to see him,” Frost said.

Miller had 27 tackles in three and a half games this season.
