Cornhusker Alumni to be Inducted Into Nebraska Football Hall of Fame

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Six Nebraska standouts have been chosen to be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame this fall, including two former Huskers.
The Husker football standouts included are Charles Fryar, Jim Scott, Cory Schlesinger, Cory Ross, Lavonte David and Sam Foltz. Their active years playing for the Huskers are from 1980s-2010s, spanning over generations.
The 2026 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Friday, Sept. 4.
Each player holds many accolades and great statistics including two players with more than a decade of NFL experience. Schlesinger was a sixth-round selection for the Detroit Lions as a fullback playing for 12 seasons. David, who announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, was a linebacker with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 14 years with one Super Bowl win.
Along with celebrating the players, Frank Solich and Kent Pavelka will be receiving awards. Solich is receiving the Hall’s Legends Award and has been in the Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. Pavelka will receive the Lyell Bremser Special Merit award. He has been a voice announcer for Husker Athletics since 1974.
Each Nebraska alumni will be honored at the ceremony and the next day will be recognized at Memorial Stadium for the Nebraska v. Ohio game which kicks off the 2026 season.
