Dedrick Mills grateful for opportunity to play at Nebraska

"You ask my coaches, I come in alive everyday. Go to practice feeling alive everyday. I love being here. I feel great. Being here makes me happy."

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Dedrick Mills’ collegiate career has seen its ups and downs.

A standout at Georgia Tech being ending up in junior college, Mills has made the most of his final opportunity at Nebraska. Mills had 745 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns last season, his first in Lincoln.

But it’s the mental part of the game that’s really expanded with the Huskers. Mills is grateful to be in such an accepting place to finish out his career.

“Every day I wake up, I’m happy,” Mills said. “You ask my coaches, I come in alive everyday. Go to practice feeling alive everyday. I love being here. I feel great. Being here makes me happy.”

Mills and the Huskers kickoff at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Ohio State.
