On Wednesday, a jury in Douglas County court found Erica Jenkins’s guilty of first-degree murder for the death of Curtis Bradford. The unanimous decision took less than four hours to reach.
Erica Jenkins is 24–years–old now, convicted of first-degree murder and two gun charges.
On the night of August 18, 2013 investigators say Erica Jenkins, her brother Nikko and Bradford went out to commit a robbery in Omaha.
This was a set up that turned deadly as Erica shot Bradford in the back of the head with a revolver. A bullet from Nikko’s shotgun also hit him in the head. Both siblings have now been found guilty of his murder.
Authorities believe Erica’s motive for killing Bradford was because she thought his friends shot at her house earlier that year. Three Jenkins family members testified for the state saying she admitted to the killing.
Bradford’s death was the third in the 10 day killing spree that took place in Omaha, shortly after Nikko Jenkins’s release from prison.
This marks the first murder conviction for Erica, her next trial is January 26th for the murder of Andrea Kruger.
