Family, friends mourn the loss of Lincoln teen killed in car crash

Friends say Bowles will be remembered for her outgoing personality, positive energy and her smile.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Friends and family gathered at Holmes Lake Thursday evening to remember and celebrate the life of 18-year-old Kennedy Bowles.

“She always made everyone happy and I really don’t know how I am going to be happy without her,” Isabella Fauveer, a friend of Bowles said.

The Southeast student was killed from injuries she sustained in a car crash in Lancaster County on Saturday. Family confirmed to Channel 8 News, she was pulled off of life support Wednesday. Doctors had been working around the clock to find matches for her organs.

“There was some comfort in the fact that we had those three days to sit with her, hold her hand, hug her, talk to her and tell her the things we wish we could have said while she was here,” Christian Zoucha, Bowles’s aunt said.

Friends say Bowles will be remembered for her outgoing personality, positive energy and her smile.

“When she was in the room the whole mood changed, everything about it just changed,” Avery Jones, a friend of Bowles said. “There was just so much positivity when she was there, no matter what anyone of us was going through.”

As family and friends try to wrap their head around the tragic accident, they’re also staying strong, for Kennedy.
