Fifth Omaha teen arrested in brutal slaying of 62-year-old man

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A fifth teen was arrested in the slaying of a 62-year-old man who was beaten with an aluminum baseball bat, Omaha Police said Tuesday.

Around 4 p.m. on Oct. 31, officers were sent to an area near 38th and Cuming Streets and found Daniel Price suffering from a head wound.

Price, who was unresponsive, was then taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries about two weeks later.

Police have now taken a fifth teen into custody, a 13-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony.

On Friday, four teens were arrested in the case: two boys ages 16 and 15 and two 13-year-old girls.

Those four teens were booked at the Douglas County Youth Center, police say.
