Hausmann was one of several Husker players who entered the transfer portal amid the program’s coaching changes.
In 2022, his freshman season, Hausmann played in every game and finished with 54 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack.
In the game against Michigan, he made an impression, picking up 10 tackles, including a three-yard sack – the first of his career.
Nebraska’s defense will also be without standout edge rusher Caleb Tannor, who declared for the NFL draft on Dec. 1.
Tony White, who served as Syracuse’s defensive coordinator last season, was hired by Matt Rhule to lead the Blackshirts in 2023.
The Huskers are scheduled to host Michigan next season on Sept. 30.
