Heavy rain floods Kearney streets; police say not to drive through water

Kearney Police said on social media to avoid the areas and to not drive through standing water.

KEARNEY, Neb. (KLKN) — Heavy rain late Monday and early Tuesday morning flooded several streets in Kearney in low-lying areas.

Kearney Police said on social media to avoid the areas and to not drive through standing water. Those areas include:

• Highway 30 East of Ave. N
• E. Ave. – 31st to 25th
• 11th St. – Ave. A to 2nd Ave.
• N. Railroad – Ave. I to 25th
• Ave N. – 34TH TO 25TH.

Police say the city of Kearney  is working to block the areas until the water subsides.
