Update: Hickman water tower

The City of Hickman says residents no longer need to boil water.

As a precaution, all residents who consumes water provided by the Hickman water system were told to boil the water before consuming it due to a hole in the water tower.  The hole discovered last week was caused by rust.

City Administrator Silas Clarke says a 3/4″ hole was discovered at the bottom of the tower.  Clark says special samples tested negative for total coliform and fecal or E.coli bacteria.  The tower had been drained and repaired.  The city thanks it's residents for their patience and apologizes for the inconvenience.
