Lincoln City Libraries providing free access to court case databases

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln City Libraries on Friday announced that it now provides free access to online databases containing Nebraska court case information.
According to the city, the databases are now available on dedicated public computers inside library buildings during regular business hours.
“Increasing access to justice for all Nebraskans is at the foundation of the Nebraska Judicial Branch’s mission,” said Maureen Eck, Deputy State Librarian, Nebraska State Library. “Public libraries play a key role in that mission, helping connect people with legal information and making court resources more accessible to everyone.”
Two databases are available:
- JUSTICE: Nebraska’s statewide trial court case management system
- SCALES: Nebraska Supreme Court and Court of Appeals case information
The resources can be used for legal and historical research, genealogy, academic projects, journalism or general public information searches.
No appointment is required, and there is no cost to use the service. The databases cannot be accessed remotely.
