Holiday travel looks fine across region and the country
Hang on tight to your steering wheel Wednesday as you drive to grandma’s house. Winds will be gusting to 35 mph out of the northwest. Winds will likely hit their peak by late afternoon.
As winds shift around to the northwest, cooler air will arrive in to southeast Nebraska. Keep in mind, “cooler” is relative to the upper 60°s and 70° experienced Tuesday afternoon. Under cloudy skies temperatures will top out in the upper 40°s to middle 50°s. Expect a high temperature around 52° in Lincoln.
Travel around the country looks to be trouble-free when it comes to the weather. If you are driving through Missouri towards St. Louis you will likely encounter rain showers Wednesday evening.
If your travel plans have you taking flights to/from Lincoln or Omaha most connecting hubs should be operating without any weather issues. Gusty winds could provide possible delays in Denver midday. Showers by evening in Dallas could produce possible delays but I am not expecting much.
If you are traveling for the holiday, safe travels!
