Husker defender Garrett Nelson named to Second-Team All-Big Ten
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One of Nebraska’s standout defenders is getting some props from the Big Ten.
Edge rusher Garrett Nelson was named a member of the Second-Team All-Big Ten on Tuesday.
The Scottsbluff native was named to the team by both coaches and conference media.
Nelson is joined by several other defensive leaders, including Lukas Van Ness, Zach Harrison, PJ Mustipher and Tyler Nubin.

Nelson served as a team captain during the 2022 season, which saw the Huskers finish with a 4-8 record.
He was a defensive leader on the team, picking up 65 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
Nelson has one more year of eligibility left, but he has not yet said if he will return to Nebraska.
Husker linebacker Luke Reimer and defensive back Quinton Newsome were named as honorable mentions in the Big Ten’s defense awards.
