Husker Football Player Kellen Huston Punches Missouri Fan

Channel 8 Eyewitness News cameras caught place-kick holder, Kellen Huston, punching a Missouri Tiger fan. It happened as thousands of fans were storming the field Saturday night after the Tigers won the game.

Just what caused the Husker place kick holder to punch a Mizzou fan? That's the question Coach Frank Solich has had to answer. Channel 8 Eyewitness News cameras were on Faurot field on Saturday. It appears a tigers fan is storming the field running right toward husker player Kellen Huston, but his path is cut short when Huston punches him right in the face.

Husker Head Coach Frank Solich said on Monday, “I did get a chance to watch a video tape that showed the incident.” Said Solich, “He is unbuckling his chin strap. He's walking off the field with another player. He is confronted with a guy coming right at him and pointing at him. Language was used, but it happened so quick.”

Solich says he ordered all of his players off the field. But the incident has now left the Husker coach with more on his plate then just preparing for Texas A&M. Frank Solich said, “We will deal with this situation…basically we'll deal with it internally, but it will be dealt with.”

It's important to note, no charges have been filed in this incident. In fact, the fan has not filed a report with the University of Missouri police. Some believe that could be because he may face charges for rushing the field which is illegal. The University Police Chief says they arrested 49 people for that after the Husker/Missouri game.
