LINCOLN – Nebraska’s quarterback position just got a little more interesting.

Backup QB Noah Vedral has entered the NCAA transfer portal, a source confirmed with Channel 8 on Tuesday.

The Wahoo native followed Scott Frost to Lincoln from UCF. Vedral played in six games this past season for the Huskers, compiling 524 yards of offense and three touchdowns.

However, the emergence of sophomore Luke McCaffrey and the arrival of prized quarterback recruit Logan Smothers, Vedral would have likely had to compete for the backup position again.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Of course, Vedral helped lead Wahoo Bishop Neumann to multiple state titles in both football and basketball during his four years there. He was an all-state performer in both sports as well.
