Inmate at Omaha Correctional Center dies at local hospital

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An inmate at the Omaha Correctional Center died at a local hospital on Tuesday.

Greg Carlson, 69, was serving a 60-year-to-life sentence out of Hall County for second-degree murder. He started his sentence on Nov. 1, 1999.

While the cause of death has not been determined, Carlson was being treated for a medical condition.

Whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will investigate.
