Jaz Shelley returning to Nebraska for fifth season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska basketball’s Jaz Shelley announced Friday that she will be returning for a fifth season.

The Australia native made the announcement in a post on Twitter.

“I believe this team is capable of so much more and I am excited to get to work,” she wrote.

Shelley has played two seasons at Nebraska, earning several accolades, including All-Big Ten postseason honors in both seasons.

In the 2022-23 season, which ended in a loss to Kansas in the Super 16 of the WNIT, Shelley had 478 points, 206 assists and 160 rebounds in 33 games.

Before coming to Nebraska, Shelley spent two seasons in Oregon.

Teammate, and fellow Australian, Isabelle Bourne announced Monday that she would be forgoing her fifth season with the Huskers.

Bourne finished her career at Nebraska with 1,221 points, 648 rebounds and 144 assists.
