Jimari Butler returns to Nebraska two days after entering transfer portal
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska edge rusher is returning to the school just two days after entering the transfer portal.
Jimari Butler, who entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, announced Friday that he has decided to stick with the Huskers.
Thanks to all the coaches, I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to play at your school, it meant a lot but after talks with the staff here and talks with my mom, I think it’s in my best interest to stay here at the University of Nebraska

Butler’s announcement came less than a day after ESPN sources said Nebraska would hire Syracuse’s Tony White as defensive coordinator.
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule made that hiring official Friday afternoon.

The redshirt freshman played in every game this season, picking up nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one pass breakup.
Butler did not play in any games during his first season at Nebraska in 2020. In 2021, he suited up against Fordham and Buffalo.
Nebraska has seen its fair share of players enter the transfer portal, including running back Jaquez Yant.
Some Nebraska recruits have also decommitted from the university, like four-stars Malachi Coleman and Omarion Miller.
