“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Lincoln Public School students and their families by providing this service on our multicast channel and are committed to delivering the classes until the COVID-19 crisis is over,” said Kern Dant, general manager. “Broadcasters are in a unique position to make a difference during this time, and we will continue to look for ways to deliver important content to our viewers.”
“We identified a challenge early on with reaching early childhood and elementary families who do not have access to internet or cable television,” said Steve Joel, superintendent for LPS. “We are grateful to local television station KLKN-TV for understanding this obstacle and helping us find a way to clear this hurdle. This collaboration with KLKN-TV is just one more way we can ensure that more families can access the elementary remote learning videos created by our teachers.”
To access the programming over-the-air, families will need to do the following:
- Have an antenna which receives VHF signals
- Tune TV or converter box to channel 8.3
- Place the antenna as high as possible on a west facing wall or window
