LFR suspects morning fire was arson

LFR investigators say they're suspicious an apartment fire this morning wasn't an accident

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 7 a.m. this morning, Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to 1227 S 14th street on the report of a structure fire.

The structure is a two-story old home converted to apartments, there are five units in total.

LFR reports that the fire was contained in a living room area in a second-floor apartment. LFR reports that all of the apartment residents were home but were safely evacuated.

The inspector reported that he’s suspicious it is the result of arson.

LFR reports there was $6,000 in structural damage and $1,000 in contents damaged. The Red Cross called in enough damage that occupants won’t be able to reinhabit.
