The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 19-year-old Lincoln man died after rolling his vehicle near Las Vegas.

Troopers say the accident happened just before noon on Saturday on IR-15 just a few miles north of Las Vegas. They say 19-year-old Mike Guerrero-Sisneroz and his fiancé, 18-year-old McKayla Holmes- both from Lincoln- were driving north when Sisneroz lost control of the vehicle, causing it to enter the median, hit a barrier and roll.

Mike’s mom, Kristina, says she’s still trying to understand the fact that her son is gone.

“I’d really like to wake up and it just be a dream but otherwise I’m just heartbroken,” Kristina said over the phone, “Mike was one of those kids that everybody liked.”

And, he was going to be a dad. Family members say McKayla, who is still recovering in the hospital, is four months pregnant.

“I feel for my granddaughter who’s going to have to grow up without her father, my son was really excited to be a dad,” Kristina said.

McKayla’s sister, Alisha Skoda, says the crash fractured McKayla’s femur but she’s going to be okay. Thankfully, the baby is too.

“I’m just happy the baby’s gonna make it because that’s what we have left of him,” Skoda said, “he was her whole world, they really loved each other.”

Mike went to Lincoln East High School and was the oldest of seven siblings. Family members say funeral services will be held this Saturday in Arizona.

The crash is still under investigation.
