Lincoln teens hear from ‘girl boss panel’
Local high school girls receive advice from area professionals
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Some local high school girls received insight and advice from area professionals on Tuesday.
Those professionals were all women, and Channel 8’s own Megan Conway was honored to be a part of it.
It was called a “girl boss panel.”
The organization Lincoln G.O.L.D. organized it.
Juniors and seniors listened to women from different backgrounds and industries and were able to ask any questions that came to mind.
The purpose of the organization is to empower young women through leadership and community involvement.
“It’s being part of something greater,” said Isabella Razdan, Lincoln G.O.L.D. member. “Not only are you learning how to build your brand by talking to powerful women and other people in business and other job areas, but you are also reaching out to retirement homes and packing food at the food bank. There’s that community service element that makes it all the more gratifying.”
Lincoln G.O.L.D. works to prepare local girls for college and life’s future endeavors. Each month, it also does community service projects to give back.
The organization also has an annual gala to raise money for scholarships for seniors attending a Nebraska-based college or university.
The gala is March 25, and there are still tickets available.
