Lincoln Weather Update: Saturday, May 23

Strong to severe storms are possible overnight Saturday and again Sunday afternoon into evening

Temperatures are anticipated to drop into the mid 60s overnight with a southeasterly wind of 5-15mph. Cloud cover will build as strong to severe thunderstorms make their way into our state. These storms  have the potential to deliver golf ball-sized hail, damaging winds (up to 60mph) and heavy rainfall. Therefore, tonight is another good night to park cars inside and clear downspouts of any debris.

Showers will linger into the morning hours Sunday, letting up for a brief period during the early afternoon. It will be another warm day, with temperatures rising into the low 80s and a southerly breeze of 10-15mph. Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms develops during the mid-late afternoon hours and continues for the remainder of the day.

Our soggy streak persists for Memorial Day, with rain chances throughout the day and temperatures rising near 70°.
